Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Charlotte #1 2026

Daniel Suarez – Daniel Suarez raced his way to victory lane this spring at Charlotte but that’s very much so a pit strategy/rain win. In the race, Suarez made two unexpected pit stops and didn’t even get back on the lead lap until about lap 340. Then during a late caution, he took two tires and got the lead and then hung on from there. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Suarez ranked 13th. “Performance Wise”, I would say Suarez was likely really a low double-digit driver but since he was off the lead lap so much, it’s also kind of hard to say.
Chase Briscoe – Chase Briscoe was a top five contender this spring at Charlotte, but he finished an asterisk mark 34th. In the race, Briscoe finished 2nd in Stage #1, finished 3rd in Stage #2, finished 4th in Stage #3, was in 6th on lap 327 but then two laps later he wrecked, dooming him to his poor result. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Briscoe ranked 5th.
Bubba Wallace – Bubba Wallace looked top ten good this spring at Charlotte, but he finished an asterisk mark 22nd. In the race, Wallace started 24th, was up to 7th on lap 52 but then a caution came out just after that which dropped him back to the mid-teens. Then during the ensuing restart, Wallace got into the wall after contact, made an unexpected pit stop and his afternoon was toast after that, leading to his 22nd. Over the first segment in terms of speed, Wallace ranked 8th.
Chris Buescher – Chris Buescher looked good this spring and was a top ten contender, but he finished an asterisk mark 30th. In the race, Buescher started 7th, finished 8th in Stage #2, finished about 14th in Stage #3, was in 12th on lap 327 but then on lap 329 he wrecked in a multi-car wreck which led to his poor result. Additionally, Buescher had a 12.9 average running position and ranked 12th for Total Speed Rankings.
