Charlotte Bank Of America 400 Fantasy NASCAR Confidence Rankings / Post Practice Predictions

On Sunday, strap in for a high-stakes Chase battle at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Bank of America 400. This will mark the first fall Charlotte race since 2017, with the Roval going away. When this race starts, drivers will be doing their first laps of the weekend since rain cancelled all track activity on Saturday. That makes looking back at this springs race and seven already visited high-speed 1.5-mile tracks more vital. The last two weeks were held at fellow 1.5’s, so definitely take those into account. Here’s the Charlotte Starting Lineup (Set via the metric).
Charlotte Bank Of America 400 Fantasy NASCAR Full Field Rankings
1) Kyle Larson
Start 1st / Projected Finish Range 1-6 / Dominator Potential – High
Charlotte Fantasy Outlook – At Charlotte, the road to victory lane might very well go thru Kyle Larson. Larson’s a former Charlotte winner and at high-speed 1.5’s, he’s been elite. In the Chase over the two 1.5’s visited, Larson has results of 1st and 2nd. For the season at 1.5’s minus Texas and Chicagoland his average finish is 3.4, and his average Speed Ranking is 6.0. At Charlotte, Larson won in 2021 and over his last four incident free races his average finish is 5.5. In the Next Gen, Larson ranks 7th for Driver Rating, 8th for Speed but has a 20.3 average finish. This spring when Larson was 100% focused on the Coca Cola 600 for the first time in a few years, Larson finished 5th, had a 5.3 average running position and earned the 5th best Driver Rating. In terms of speed stats, Larson ranked 4th for Total Speed Rankings and then 5th for Speed Late In A Run. In 2025, Larson looked good but didn’t have an incident free race and finished 37th. In the race, Larson won the pole, led 34 laps but then on lap 42 while leading, he spun out and got into the wall which brought out the caution. That wasn’t a knockout blow but that also wasn’t his last problem. On lap 245 while running in 17th, Larson was damaged in a multi-car accident which marked the end of his race. In 2024, Larson completely missed the race. In 2023, Larson was strong but finished an asterisk mark 30th. The #5 team did some extensive tuning up over the course of the race, but when it was closing time, Larson was near the front. On lap 374 while running in 3rd, the #5 snapped loose and Larson crashed dooming him to his 30th. In 2022, Larson had what he called the worst race of his life, but he likely would’ve reached victory lane if Briscoe didn’t do a failed “Hail Mary” which ultimately led to his 9th. In 2021, Larson finished 1st, led 327 laps, had a 1.3 average running position and had the best Total Speed Ranking.

2) Chase Briscoe
Start 2nd / Projected Finish Range 1-6 / Dominator Potential – Medium-High
Charlotte Fantasy Outlook – At Charlotte, Chase Briscoe will be tough to beat. Right now at high-speed 1.5’s, nobody is better. Briscoe’s fresh off a trip to victory lane at Las Vegas and over the last three races at these venues, Briscoe’s won twice and has a 2.0 average finish. At Charlotte in the Next Gen, Briscoe has a pair of top 4 finishes but over the other three he’s finished in the 20’s. This spring, Briscoe was a top five contender but finished an asterisk mark 34th. In the race, Briscoe finished 2nd in Stage #1, finished 3rd in Stage #2, finished 4th in Stage #3, was in 6th on lap 327 but then two laps later he wrecked, dooming him to his poor result. Despite his problem, Briscoe had a 7.6 average running position and ranked 5th for Total Speed Rankings. In 2025, Briscoe won the pole, led 1 lap, finished 3rd, earned the 7th best Driver Rating and ranked 12th for Speed. That said, Briscoe’s race wasn’t incident free. Briscoe was caught speeding during the opening Green Flag pit cycle in Stage #1 while running around 5th and was later damaged in a multi-car accident around lap 245 while running around 10th.

3) Denny Hamlin
Start 12th / Projected Finish Range 1-6 / Dominator Potential – Medium
Charlotte Fantasy Outlook – Denny Hamlin is a super-elite performer at Charlotte and on Sunday, look for the 2022 winner to be a top five contender who’ll be a factor to win. Hamlin’s thrived here and he’s been the premiere performer at high-speed 1.5’s in 2026. This year at high-speed 1.5’s, Hamlin ranks 1st for Speed and has the best average finish (4.6). At Charlotte, Hamlin’s always fast and since 2020 #2 minus 2023 and last year (top five contender in both races), Hamlin’s average finish is 3.6. In the Next Gen, Hamlin ranks 2nd for Speed, 2nd for Driver Rating and 4th for average finish (12.0). Over his incident free Charlotte Next Gen races his average finish is 3.0. This spring, Hamlin had a rocket and raced his way to a 3rd. In the race, Hamlin finished 4th in Stage #1, won Stage #2, finished 2nd in Stage #3, had the 2nd best average running position (4.0) and led 75 laps. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Hamlin ranked 3rd. Last year, Hamlin was top 2 good but finished a misleading 16th. In the race, Hamlin finished 2nd in Stage #2 and #3, had a 5th place average running position, earned the 3rd best Driver Rating and led 53 laps. During the last Stage while running in 2nd, the #11 team had trouble fueling up the #11 and that led to an unexpected pit stop on lap 371 which doomed him to his 16th. In terms of speed stats, Hamlin ranked 2nd for Total Speed Rankings and Speed Late In A Run. In 2024, Hamlin was strong and finished 5th. In 2023, Hamlin was a top five contender but finished an asterisk mark 35th after Elliott went kamikaze on him. In 2022, Hamlin raced his way to victory lane.
