Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney was the class of the field last year at Homestead and I view him to have subjectively been the best, but he finished an asterisk mark 36th. In the race, Blaney started 6th, won Stage #1, finished 3rd in Stage #2 (got passed by drivers who had fresher tires), had a slow Stage #2 pit stop that dropped him from 3rd to 9th, rebounded back up to 3rd on lap 207 but then his engine blew up, marking the end of his race. In the race, Blaney led the most laps (124) and had the best Total Speed Ranking.

William Byron – William Byron was a top five contender last year at Homestead, but he finished an asterisk mark 12th. In the race, Byron started 5th, finished 6th in Stage #1, finished 4th in Stage #2 but then during the last caution while running in 7th, Byron was caught speeding on pit road and that dropped him back to 27th. In terms of speed stats, Byron ranked 4th for Total Speed Rankings and then 7th for Speed Late In A Run.

Chase Elliott – Chase Elliott was a top ten contender last year at Homestead, but he finished an asterisk mark 18th. In the race, Elliott started 18th, finished 15th in Stage #1, finished 8th in Stage #2 but then during the Stage #2 caution, he got a pit penalty which dropped him back to 30th to begin the last Stage. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Elliott ranked 14th.

Austin Cindric – Austin Cindric was a top ten contender last year at Homestead, but he finished an asterisk mark 19th. In the race, Cindric started 8th, finished 5th in Stage #1, finished 7th in Stage #2 but then in the last Stage around lap 210 while running in 10th, he was caught speeding on pit road which dropped him back to the high 20’s. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Cindric ranked 10th.
