Drivers with agenda’s : Richmond
At Richmond certain drivers will have agenda’s which more often than not is bad news for fantasy racers. Below are drivers who I think will have agenda’s.
Denny Hamlin – He just tore his ACL on Tuesday and I think he’ll take it easy on Saturday night. I think the odds are very high he won’t be giving it his all.
Ryan Newman – Ryan Newman is a strong driver at Richmond but I think he’ll be playing it safe on Saturday night. In order for him to make the Chase he essentially just needs to finish in the low thirties. Look for him to avoid trouble on the track at all costs.
Jeff Gordon – His magic number to get a Chase berth is 17th. I expect him to play it safe like other bubble drivers. Last fall at Talladega he was in a similar situation and he played it extremely safe and just rode around in the back.
Paul Menard – Menard will be another driver looking to just have a safe race. His magic number is 9th. I don’t think he can finish 9th but I do know he can try his best to avoid trouble.
Clint Bowyer – Bowyer essentially needs to finish 28th or better and hope there isn’t a new winner.
Drivers In The Chase Possible Agenda’s
Drivers in the Chase might not be giving it there all on Saturday night. Some drivers might be experimenting things for New Hampshire or Phoenix. I know it’s happened in the past.
Some Chase drivers might also be bringing a “disposable” car that isn’t their best because they might be saving their “good stuff” for the Chase.
Drivers Who Need Wins
Drivers who don’t have a chance to point themselves in the Chase will be in “Hail Mary” mode. That can be both good and bad but it all really comes down to how the race plays out.
