Martinsville Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings

Tyler Reddick
Martinsville Fantasy Spin – At Martinsville, don’t overlook Tyler Reddick. His track record is nothing to get excited about, but don’t forget how strong he looked at the Coliseum until he was sidelined with problems. Also, when you factor in Reddick’s weekly level of performance, I think it’s clear he’s poised to have a strong showing. Since Las Vegas minus Atlanta where he crashed, Reddick has a 6.75 average finish. On Saturday night, look for Tyler Reddick to compete for a top ten.
Martinsville Track History – At Martinsville, Tyler Reddick has 1 top ten and then in his three other races he’s finished between 16th to 24th. Last fall, Reddick didn’t do anything special and finished 18th. Additionally, Reddick had an 18.2 average running position and his Total Speed Ranking was the 20th best. In spring 2021, Reddick finished 8th, had the 12th best Total Speed Ranking and had a 14.6 average running position. In fall 2020, Reddick was a 20’s performer. In the race he finished 24th, had a 22.8 average running position and had the 26th best Total Speed Ranking. In summer 2020 when he made his track debut, Reddick finished 10th in Stage #2, 16th overall, had a 13.2 average running position and had the 14th best Total Speed Ranking.
Brad Keselowski
Martinsville Fantasy Spin – Brad Keselowski was elite at Martinsville in the #2, now that he’s in the #6, I think he’s likely a low double-digit to mid-teens performer who might just be able to sneak in a top ten. Keselowski just had a solid showing at Richmond which is encouraging, but keep in mind he’s also had a lot of bad ones this year.
Martinsville Track History – At Martinsville, Brad Keselowski performed at a super-elite level back in his #2 days. Since 2016 at “The Paper Clip” (last 12 races), Keselowski has 10 top fives, and only one result outside the top ten. Last fall, Keselowski drove in ultra aggressive mode since his playoff hopes were on the line and when the checkered flag waved he finished 3rd. Additionally, Keselowski finished 5th in Stage #1, 8th in Stage #2, had a 6.9 average running position and had the 5th best Total Speed Ranking. In spring 2021, Keselowski had a tough race and finished 33rd. That said, he didn’t run bad. In the race he finished 8th in Stage #1, 6th in Stage #2 and had the 6th best Total Speed Ranking. In the race, Keselowski had intermittent power steering issues (first reported on lap 321), then he spun on lap 340, then on lap 385 he was collected in the “Big One” which marked the end of his race. In the five Martinsville races prior to that, Keselowski had results of 4th, 3rd, 3rd, 1st and 5th.
Aric Almirola
Martinsville Fantasy Spin – Aric Almirola is a solid performer at Martinsville and with how well the #10 has been running this year, make sure you don’t overlook him. His track record has been a little spotty lately, but in 4 of the last 7 Martinsville races he’s finished in the top 11.
Martinsville Track History – Aric Almirola has been a solid performer at Martinsville and as you read above, in 4 of the last 7 he’s finished in the top 11. Last fall, Almirola had a solid showing. In the race he started 23rd but raced his way up to a 6th place finish. In the race, Almirola had a 10th place average running position, had the 7th best Green Flag Speed and the 7th best Total Speed Ranking. In spring 2021, Almirola made an unexpected pit stop on lap 319 and was shown to have a ton of damage on lap 350 after he ran into the back of Suarez. Those big problems make his 20th look great! Prior to his problems starting, I think he looked like a high-teens performer. In fall 2020, Almirola had a great car. When the checkered flag waved, he finished 7th, had the 10th best Total Speed Ranking and had an 11.1 average running position. In summer 2020, Almirola struggled and had major battery problems which led to his 33rd place finish. In the race, Almirola led the opening 19 laps, but after that he faded back in the pack quickly and struggled for the remainder of the evening. In fall 2019, Almirola was a top five contender but finished a misleading 37th. In the race he finished 7th in Stage #1, 5th in Stage #2 but with about 139 laps to go while running in the top ten he wrecked. In a post wreck interview, Almirola said he felt like he was one adjustment away from competing for 2nd. In spring 2019, Almirola had a strong showing and finished 9th. In 2018, Almirola had results of 11th and 14th.
