Sonoma Race Notes
Kyle Larson who started on the pole led the opening 9 laps.
Martin Truex Jr. who started 19th drove very aggressively early in the race. On lap 4, Truex was up to 13th.
4 laps into the race, Larson had +4 second lead over second place Chase Elliott.
Notable: On lap 4, Christopher Bell made an unexpected pit stop. He started in 20th and was in 23rd at the time. His team opened up his trunk and lifted up his hood. Bell had no fuel pressure.

On lap 7, Martin Truex Jr was said to have the fastest car on the track.

On the last lap before the competition caution came out (Lap 10), Kyle Busch, Alex Bowman, Bubba Wallace, Michael McDowell, Chris Buescher, Erik Jones, Chase Briscoe, Ross Chastain and many others came to pit road.
On the next lap right before the competition caution came out, Kyle Larson (leader), Chase Elliott, Kurt Busch, Daniel Suarez, Joey Logano and many others came to pit road.

On lap 17, Denny Hamlin who was back in the 20’s was shown to have damage to his nose.
Late in Stage #1, quite a few drivers not near the front came to pit road.
Notable: Bubba Wallace who pitted before the Stage ended was caught speeding during his pit stop.

Notable: Austin Dillon had a really long pit stop during the Stage caution and his team lifted his hood. He was earlier reported to be having battery issues.
Kurt Busch and Matt DiBenedetto didn’t pit during the Stage #1 caution. That got them up to 1-2.

Notable: On lap 28, Tyler Reddick was said to have a tire rub and it led to him making an unexpected pit stop. He was running around 20th shortly before his problem.
On lap 30, Ryan Blaney and Kyle Busch were both shown to have some front fender damage, Blaney’s was worse.

Big: On lap 31, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. had a major off-roading moment and was shown to have some notable damage. This brought out a caution. He was running around 24th shortly before his problem. This ended this race.
During the Stenhouse caution, Kyle Larson didn’t pit. Most of the front runners came to pit road.
