Las Vegas Pennzoil 400 Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings

Bubba Wallace
Las Vegas Fantasy Outlook – At Las Vegas, look for Bubba Wallace to unload fast and be a top ten contender. Wallace has shown potential here, but he’s been a letdown when it comes to the results column. At “Sin City” in the Next Gen, Wallace ranks 11th in terms of Total Speed Rankings but in the results column, he’s finished in the top 13 50% of the time but in the other 50% he’s finished 25th or worse. Last year at high-speed 1.5’s minus Las Vegas #1 where he had major lugnut problems, Wallace had a 12.8 average finish with his overall Speed Ranking being 16th.
Las Vegas Track History – Bubba Wallace has had some strong runs at Las Vegas, but his resume is overall pretty ugly. Recently, he’s been pretty solid and since 2023 minus last spring his average finish is 9.6. Last fall, Wallace had a solid afternoon. In the race, Wallace finished 12th, had a 14.4 average running position and ranked 13th in terms of Speed Rankings. Last spring, Wallace finished 35th but you can chalk up that result to major lugnut problems. In the race, Wallace started 5th, finished around the high teens in Stage #1, was in 18th on lap 118 but then just shortly after that during green flag pit stops, Wallace had a lugnut issue that dropped him 3-laps down. In fall 2023, Wallace finished 13th, had a 14.2 average running position and the 14th best Driver Rating. In spring 2023, Wallace had a strong showing and finished 4th (5th best Total Speed Ranking).
Brad Keselowski
Las Vegas Fantasy Outlook – At Las Vegas, look for Brad Keselowski to be a top ten contender. Las Vegas has been a solid venue for him, and he was pretty good at high-speed 1.5-mile tracks last year. In 2024 at these venues, Keselowski had the 11th best Track Type Total Speed Ranking and for the season minus Kansas #2 and Las Vegas #2, his average finish was 7th.
Las Vegas Track History – Las Vegas has been a good track for Brad Keselowski. He’s a 3-time winner and in the Next Gen, he ranks 13th in terms of Total Speed Rankings but the results column hasn’t been pretty, with him only finishing in the top ten once and having a 15th place average finish minus last fall. Last fall, Keselowski was a top five contender but crashed in a “Big One” and finished 36th. In the race, Keselowski finished 5th in Stage #1 and then early in Stage #2 while running in 7th, he crashed in a multi-car wreck. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Keselowski ranked 8th. Last spring, Keselowski was solid and finished 13th. That said, Keselowski had the 20th best Total Speed Ranking and a 21.9 average running position. Over the final green flag run, he was solid to close out. In fall 2023, Keselowski started 21st, finished 3rd in Stage #1, finished 5th in Stage #2, led 38 laps, had a 6.8 average running position and then finished 4th overall. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Keselowski ranked 4th. In spring 2023, Keselowski finished 17th but he performed better than his result. In the race, Keselowski finished 10th in Stage #1, finished 9th in Stage #2, had a 10.7 average running position, had the 11th best Total Speed Ranking but for whatever reason he just wasn’t at his best to close out the race.
Ty Gibbs
Las Vegas Fantasy Outlook – At Las Vegas, I don’t know if Ty Gibbs can avoid trouble but if he does, he can come home with a good finish. The #54 never lacks for speed at high-speed 1.5’s and in 2024 at “Sin City”, Gibbs was 2 for 2 at being a top five contender despite what you’ll see in the results column. Last year at high-speed 1.5’s, Gibbs had the 2nd best Track Type Total Speed Ranking and minus Kansas #1 and Las Vegas #2 where he had problems his average finish was 7.3.
Las Vegas Track History – At Las Vegas, Ty Gibbs has finished 22nd or worse in 4 of his 5 starts, but “Performance Wise” he was 2 for 2 at being a top five contender last year. Over his five Next Gen starts, Gibbs ranks 12th in terms of Next Gen Speed Rankings but due to all of his problems his Next Gen Average Finish is 22.6. Last fall, Gibbs looked strong but finished an asterisk mark 30th. In the race, Gibbs finished 6th in Stage #1, was in 4th on lap 125 but was then caught speeding on pit road during green flag pit stops. Later on lap 190, he got loose and spun, which dropped him two laps down. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Gibbs ranked 11th overall. Last spring, Gibbs finished 5th despite his race not being incident free. In the race, Gibbs started 8th, finished 6th in Stage #1 but then in Stage #2 around lap 158 while in 5th, Gibbs had lugnut problems and got an uncontrolled tire penalty, which dropped him to the back. Gibbs wouldn’t be denied, and he rallied back, even despite being said to have lost first gear. Additionally, Gibbs earned the 4th best Driver Rating, had the 5th best Total Speed Ranking and ranked 6th for Speed Late In A Run. In fall 2023, Gibbs had his worst Las Vegas result and finished 34th, due to multiple problems. “Performance Wise”, I would say Gibbs was a low double-digit performer. In the two races prior to that, Gibbs had back-to-back 22nd’s.
