Chicagoland eero 400 Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions / The Low Tier

Austin Dillon
Chicagoland Fantasy Outlook – Austin Dillon could have a solid showing in him but by that, I think he’ll have teens potential if things go well. At Chicagoland, Dillon has six starts on his resume and minus his two DNF’s his average finish is 14th and he’s 4 for 4 at finishing between 10th to 16th. Back in 2019 when it was most recently visited, Dillon started on the pole and finished 10th. This year over the high-speed 1.5’s plus Darlington grouping, he’s 3 for 5 at finishing between 12th to 18th and over the combined races minus Charlotte where he crashed his average finish is 17.8. In terms of Speed over that grouping, Dillon ranks 27th.

Michael McDowell
Chicagoland Fantasy Outlook – At Chicagoland, I have mid-pack expectations with Michael McDowell, but he very well may be a teens driver. Since Charlotte minus the road courses visited, he’s 3 for 4 at finishing between 14th to 17th and has an 18.0 average finish. That said outside of the most recent races, things haven’t been great for McDowell in 2026 at tracks that I would look to for correlation. In 2026 over the high-speed 1.5’s + Darlington grouping which has been a key weakness, he finished 14th at Charlotte but over the other four, he’s finished 20th or worse. Also for the season over that grouping, McDowell ranks 26th for average finish (24.2) and 30th for Speed. At high-wear intermediates going back to 2024, McDowell ranks 28th for Speed.

Josh Berry
Chicagoland Fantasy Outlook – Josh Berry has been flagrantly bad at high-speed intermediate tracks in 2026, but I think he might have dark horse upside. Berry is often at his best at high-wear intermediates and since 2025 on that track type, his average Speed Ranking ranks 11th. That is also my lone angle for him having upside. This year at 1.5’s plus Darlington, Berry ranks among the worst and has a 26.6 average finish and ranks 33rd for Speed. Heading into the weekend, Berry has finished 27th or worse in 10 of the last 11 races.
