Kyle Busch who started on the pole led the first 3 laps.

Big: On lap 5, BJ McLeod had some sort of right rear issue and spun which brought out the caution. In the process, William Byron got into the wall and got some damage. Noah Gragson was also shown to have some notable damage. Byron did three extended pit stops for repair under caution. Byron said his steering was wandering a little bit. This was the only caution of the opening Stage.
During the McLeod caution, everybody pitted but Kyle Busch.

On lap 50, a few teams ducked down pit road for planned pit stops. It was a small Chevy contingent. This begun a strung-out green flag pit cycle to end Stage #1.
On lap 57, Logano and many Fords came to pit road.
Notable: On lap 57, Byron got into the wall again. He reported everything was fine after it.
Notable: On lap 59 coming to pit road, Jimmie Johnson spun out into the grass. No caution came out.
A lot more Chevy’s came in on lap 60.

Big: On lap 124, a “Big One” ensued right at the front when leader Allgaier got into the wall after going across the nose of the #11 when he wasn’t clear.
