The Super Low Tier – Martinsville
Justin Haley – Among “Super Low Tier” teams, Justin Haley will once again be the class of the field. This year over his five combined races he’s finished between 24th to 30th every race and has a 26.6 average finish. At Martinsville, I would look for him to finish around that range again. At “The Paper Clip”, Haley has no top series starts on his resume. Last year in the lower series he finished 12th.
James Davison – At Martinsville, look for Davison to be a low to mid 30’s driver. Last fall in his lone Cup start at “The Paper Clip”, Davison finished 36th. In Davison’s last two races heading into the weekend he has results of 32nd (Atlanta) and 33rd (Phoenix).
BJ McLeod – BJ McLeod is in the top half of the “Super Low Tier” performers. This year minus the Daytona 500, all of his results are between 30th to 34th. In fall 2019 when he made his lone start at Martinsville he finished 27th.
Quin Houff – Quin Houff has two Martinsville starts on his resume and they both came last year. Last fall he finished 33rd, and in spring 2020 he finished 34th. This year on the track minus Bristol Dirt and the Daytona Road Course, Houff has a 32.4 average finish. On Saturday night, look for Houff to be a low to mid 30’s driver.
Cody Ware – At Martinsville, look for Cody Ware to be a low to mid-thirties driver. Over the last five races this year he’s finished between 31st to 36th, and I think he’ll do that again on Saturday night. In spring 2019 when he made his lone Martinsville start he finished 36th.
JJ Yeley – JJ Yeley only has one start on his resume this year and at Bristol Dirt he finished 28th. At Martinsville, I think there’s no way he can finish better than that. On Saturday night, I would look for him to be a low to mid 30’s performer.
Josh Bilicki – At Martinsville, it would be wise to view Josh Bilicki as about a mid 30’s driver. This year minus the Daytona 500 all of his results are between 30th to 37th, with four of them being between 35th to 37th. Last fall at Martinsville in his lone Cup start, Bilicki finished ten laps down in 32nd.
