Kyle Busch
Iowa Fantasy Outlook – Look for Kyle Busch to be a top ten contender in Iowa. Busch looked top ten good last summer before his demise and this spring at Phoenix in the first shorter-flat track race of the year, Busch finished 8th and had the 11th best Total Speed Ranking. To keep his 2025 Playoff push going, look for Busch to run well and be a factor for a top ten.
Iowa Track History – Last year at Iowa, Kyle Busch was a top ten contender but finished an asterisk mark 35th. In the race, Busch started 7th, finished 10th in Stage #1, finished about 13th in Stage #2, was running in 10th on lap 257 but then on lap 267 while running in 10th, Busch got into the wall, said his suspension now made his car undriveable and then took it to the garage. In terms of Total speed Rankings, Busch ranked 13th with his speed over the segments being 9th, 7th, 13th and then 29th.

Bubba Wallace
Iowa Fantasy Outlook – Bubba Wallace might be a driver to watch at Iowa. The #23 team is capable of showing up with speed at shorter-flat tracks and since 2024 on this sub-track type, Wallace has the 10th best Total Speed Ranking. Also at shorter-flat tracks since 2024 minus this spring at Phoenix where he crashed, Wallace has a 13.0 average running position and a 16.0 average finish. Heading into the weekend, I would view Wallace as a teen’s driver who’ll compete for a top ten.
Iowa Track History – Last year at Iowa, Bubba Wallace had a teen’s evening. In the race, Wallace started 16th, had a 14.2 average running position, earned the 17th best Driver Rating and then finished 17th. In terms of speed stats, Wallace ranked 21st in terms of Total Speed Rankings and was the 23rd fastest driver late in a run.

Ty Gibbs
Iowa Fantasy Outlook – At Iowa, look for Ty Gibbs to be a factor for a top ten. The #54 team is running well and clicking off good results on a weekly basis as they pursue a Playoff berth, and I have no doubt JGR will provide him with a fast car as the regular season winds down. Since 2024 at shorter-flat tracks, Gibbs ranks 13th in terms of Track Type Total Speed Rankings and minus last fall at Phoenix his average finish is 16.9.
Iowa Track History – Last year at Iowa, the #54 team didn’t show up and Gibbs finished 25th. Additionally, Gibbs had a 21.3 average running position and had the 20th best Total Speed Ranking. To highlight his speed over the segments, Gibbs had speed rankings of 19th, 12th, 30th and then 17th. I’ll note, Gibbs did run well for a portion of the race but not much of it and was quite bad over the final segment.
