San Diego Naval Base Coronado Anduril 250 Race the Base Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks

Shane van Gisbergen
Naval Base Coronado Fantasy Outlook – At Naval Base Coronado in the Anduril 250 Race the Base, there’s no question that the road to victory lane goes thru Shane van Gisbergen. At road courses, SVG’s a 7-time winner and since 2025 on this track type, he’s 6 for 8 at finishing 1st, has a 2.0 average finish, a 3.1 average running position, the best Driver Rating by a healthy margin and his average Speed Ranking is 1.4. Essentially over that span, SVG has clobbered the competition at every track not named COTA. Another variable you have to like about SVG is that since he’s been on the scene, he’s a perfect 2 for 2 at winning new debuting road courses (Chicago and Mexico City). This year at road courses, SVG put on a display of domination en route to victory lane at Watkins Glen (led 74 laps, best Total Speed Ranking) and then at COTA he finished 2nd (3rd best Speed Ranking, 4.9 average running position).
Tyler Reddick
Naval Base Coronado Fantasy Outlook – 4-time road course winner, Tyler Reddick will be tough competition at Naval Base Coronado and on Sunday, look for him to be a factor to win. This year at road courses, Reddick won at COTA and then finished 5th at Watkins Glen. Also between the combined 2026 races, Reddick has a 2.5 average Speed Ranking, the 2nd best average running position and the 2nd best Driver Rating. Going back to 2025 on this track type over the combined races, Reddick has the 2nd best average finish (7.1), the 3rd best average running position, the 3rd best Driver Rating and ranks 9th for Track Type Total Speed Rankings.
Ty Gibbs
Naval Base Coronado Fantasy Outlook – Ty Gibbs could be a contender at San Diego. Gibbs and the #54 team are elite at road courses, and I expect his preparation to be second to none in terms of sim time. In 2026 on this track type, Gibbs has a pair of top 4’s, a 3.5 average finish, the 4th best Driver Rating, the 4th best average running position and his average Speed Ranking is 5.5. Going back to last year at road courses, Gibbs ranks 5th for Speed and in terms of the results column minus COTA 2025 and Watkins Glen 2025 his average finish is 6.5. One race I’ll highlight over that stretch was his 2nd at Chicago, and that race may very well prove to have the most correlation.
