Martinsville Xfinity 500 Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks

Ryan Blaney
Martinsville Fantasy Outlook – Ryan Blaney’s a super-elite performer at Martinsville, and the road to victory lane likely goes through him in the Xfinity 500. Blaney’s a 2-time winner, and in the Next Gen, Blaney has the best average finish (4.4), the best Driver Rating and ranks 2nd for Speed. In Fall Martinsville races, Blaney’s been Mr. October and in the Next Gen era over the four, Blaney has 2-wins, a 2.0 average finish and a 2.5 average Speed Ranking. On Sunday, look for Blaney to be a top five contender who’ll be a factor to win.
Martinsville History – Ryan Blaney has been a standout performer at Martinsville and in the Next Gen, Blaney has 2-wins, a series best 4.4 average finish and he’s only finished lower than 7th once, and that result was an 11th. This spring, Blaney was strong and finished 6th, but I’ll also note that result underrates him a little. In the race, Blaney started 12th, finished 8th in Stage #1, finished 4th in Stage #2, was battling for 3rd on lap 334 but then Hamlin had contact with Blaney which led to the #12 getting into the wall pretty hard and then rapidly fading back to 7th. Additionally, Blaney had the 4th best average running position (5.7) and earned the 5th best Driver Rating. In terms of Speed Stats, Blaney ranked 2nd for Speed Late In A Run and had the 5th best Total Speed Ranking. Last fall, Blaney was strong but came up just short of victory lane. In the race, Blaney started 31st, finished 7th in Stage #1, would’ve finished 2nd in Stage #2 if there hadn’t been a late caution, led 177 laps, earned the 2nd best Driver Rating, and then finished 2nd overall, after getting outdueled by William Byron late. In terms of speed stats, Blaney ranked 2nd for both Total Speed Rankings and Speed Late In A Run. Last spring, Blaney started 32nd, finished about 18th in Stage #1, finished 6th in Stage #2 and then finished 11th overall. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Blaney ranked 11th. In fall 2024, Blaney came up clutch and raced his way to victory lane. In the race, Blaney earned the best Driver Rating, had a 4.7 average running position, and led 32 laps. I’ll note that win didn’t come easy and via mixed pit strategy which dropped him back, he drove from 10th to 1st over the course of 76 laps (lap 411 to 487). Over the five races prior to that, Blaney had results of 5th, 1st, 7th, 3rd, and 4th.
Denny Hamlin
Martinsville Fantasy Outlook – Denny Hamlin is a super-elite performer at Martinsville and on Sunday in the Xfinity 500, look for Hamlin to be a top five contender who’ll be a factor to win. Hamlin was the class of the field this spring, was in 2nd last fall before his engine’s demise and won in spring 2025, so I don’t think he’ll disappoint when it comes to performance. For his career, Hamlin’s a 6-time winner who’s finished in the top five 54% of the time and in the top ten 68% of the time. Over the last eight races minus last fall, Hamlin has a 4.4 average finish, and he’s averaged leading 146.7 laps per race.
Martinsville History – Denny Hamlin has thrived at Martinsville and in the Next Gen, Hamlin ranks #1 for Speed, has the 4th best Driver Rating and his average finish minus last fall and spring 2022 is 4.4. This spring, Hamlin was the class of the field but was beat on pit strategy and wasn’t at his best to close out. In the race, Hamlin started on the pole, won Stage #1, won Stage #2, led 292 laps, had a 1.3 average running position, earned the best Driver Rating and then finished 2nd. In terms of speed stats, Hamlin ranked #1 for both Total Speed Rankings and Speed Late In A Run. Last fall, the #11 was one of the best, and you can completely disregard his 35th. In the race, Hamlin started 5th, finished 6th in Stage #1, would’ve finished 8th in Stage #2 if there wasn’t a late caution, but then in the last Stage, the #11 came to life, but then on lap 335 while running in 2nd, his engine blew up, which led to his 35th. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Hamlin ranked 5th with his speed over the segments being 6th, 8th, and then 3rd. Last spring, the #11 team brought a new setup, and Hamlin took the competition to the woodshed. In the race, Hamlin finished 1st, had a 2.4 average running position, earned a near-perfect Driver Rating, and led 274 laps. In terms of speed analytics, Hamlin had the best Total Speed Ranking and ranked as the Fastest Driver Late In A Run. In fall 2024, Hamlin started the race in the rear of the field after a practice crash but sliced and diced his way up to a 5th-place finish. Additionally, Hamlin had the 5th best Total Speed Ranking and ranked 5th for Speed Late In A Run. In spring 2024, Hamlin had a hot rod but finished an asterisk mark 11th. In the race, Hamlin finished 7th in Stage #1, won Stage #2, led 66 laps, had a 4.4 average running position, and was running in 4th when the late caution came out, but then they pitted, which was very dumb, leading to his asterisk mark 11th. In terms of speed stats, Hamlin had the 4th best Total Speed Ranking and ranked 5th for Speed Late In A Run. Over the three races prior to that, Hamlin had results of 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
Joey Logano
Martinsville Fantasy Outlook – Joey Logano is always a force to be reckoned with at Martinsville, and on Sunday in the Xfinity 500, look for Logano to dial up the aggression and be a top five contender who’ll be a factor to win. In the Next Gen over the combined races, Logano has the 2nd best average finish (5.6), ranks 5th for Speed, 5th for Driver Rating and he’s also the only driver who’s a perfect 9 for 9 at finishing in the top ten.
Martinsville History – Joey Logano has been a fantasy ace at Martinsville, and if anyone is a lock for a top ten, it’s him since he currently has 14-straight top tens. At “The Paper Clip”, Logano’s a former winner (2018) and since fall 2019, his average finish is an impressive 5.9. This spring, Logano was a consistent front runner. In the race, Logano started 9th, finished 7th in Stage #1, finished 3rd in Stage #2, had a 5.1 average running position (3rd best) and then finished 3rd overall. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Logano ranked 3rd. Last fall, the #22 was stout. In the race, Logano had the 4th best average running position (6.1), earned the 5th best Driver Rating, had the 6th best Total Speed Ranking, and then finished 8th overall. Last spring, Logano’s long-running top ten streak was on the brink, but he wouldn’t be denied. In the race, Logano started 7th, won Stage #1, finished just outside the top ten in Stage #2, was in 6th on lap 316, but then the following lap he was spun out, which dropped him back to the mid-20’s with only about 75 laps remaining. When the checkered flag waved, Logano finished 8th. In terms of speed stats, Logano ranked 5th for Speed Late In A Run and had the 7th best Total Speed Ranking. In fall 2024, the #22 team was looking forward to the championship finale, but Logano still finished 10th. In spring 2024, Logano had a 6.0 average running position, had the 7th best Total Speed Ranking and then finished 6th.
