Homestead Fantasy Outlook – If you’re looking for a mid-tier dark horse driver who’s more than proven they can grind out good results at Homestead, look no further than AJ Allmendinger. In the Next Gen, Allmendinger’s the only driver who’s 4 for 4 at finishing in the top ten and his 5.8 average finish ranks as the best in the series. In other Next Gen RPM analytics, Allmendinger ranks 6th for Driver Rating and 7th for Speed. This year at 1.5-mile intermediates, Allmendinger has a best finish of 15th and a 22.5 average finish, but he’s been great here and that’s ultimately the most important thing. Heading into the weekend, I would view Allmendinger as a teen’s driver who has a good chance to finish in the top ten.
Homestead History – There’s horses for courses and Homestead has been a great track for AJ Allmendinger. In the Next Gen, Allmendinger has a series best 5.8 average finish and he’s 4 for 4 at finishing between 3rd to 8th. Last year, Allmendinger had a great performance and ran well throughout. In the race, Allmendinger started 10th, had a 9.8 average running position, earned the 8th best Driver Rating and then finished 8th overall. In terms of speed stats, Allmendinger ranked 9th for Total Speed Rankings and 12th for Speed Late In A Run. In 2024, Allmendinger started 32nd, finished about 16th in Stage #1, finished 10th in Stage #2, had a 14.5 average running position and then finished 8th overall. In the two races prior to that, Allmendinger had results of 5th (2023) and 3rd (2022).

Carson Hocevar
Homestead Fantasy Outlook – At Homestead, I would view Carson Hocevar as a teen’s driver who’ll have a good chance to finish in the top ten. This year at 1.5-mile intermediates, Hocevar ranks 13th for Speed but in terms of the results column, he’s finished between 7th to 14th in 50% of the races but in the other 50% he’s finished 22nd or worse, so he’s a hard driver to trust. At Homestead over his two starts, Hocevar has a top ten, an engine DNF, ranks 12th for Driver Rating and then 14th for Speed.
Homestead History – Last year at Homestead, Carson Hocevar showed potential but DNF’ed when his engine couldn’t go the distance. In the race, Hocevar started 15th, finished 9th in Stage #2, restarted the last Stage in 12th but then shortly after that on lap 185 while running in the teens, he made an unexpected pit stop due to engine problems which also marked the end of his race. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Hocevar ranked 20th. In 2024, Hocevar ran well throughout. In the race, Hocevar finished 5th in Stage #1, finished 8th in Stage #2, earned the 8th best Driver Rating, had a 9.8 average running position and then finished 9th overall. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Hocevar ranked 8th.

Ryan Preece
Homestead Fantasy Outlook – At Homestead, look for a solid afternoon out of Ryan Preece and the #60 team. Preece has run well here in the Next Gen, and he’s been solid at 1.5-mile intermediates throughout the year. At Homestead in the Next Gen, Preece ranks 5th for average finish (10.7), 16th for Driver Rating and then 20th for Speed. This year at 1.5-mile intermediates, Preece is 5 for 8 at finishing between 10th to 15th and ranks 18th for Speed.
Homestead History – Homestead has been a solid track for Ryan Preece and in the Next Gen, he’s finished in the top 13 every race and has a 10.7 average finish. Last year, Preece started deep in the field in 31st, finished in the low 20’s in Stage #1, finished about the mid-teens in Stage #2 and then finished 9th overall. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Preece ranked 15th with his speed over the segments being 27th, 11th, 15th and then 11th. In 2024, Preece was pretty good. In the race Preece finished 10th, had the 15th best Total Speed Ranking and had a 15.2 average running position. In 2023, Preece started 29th, had the 27th best Speed Ranking, had a 19.7 average running position but then finished 13th. Over the final Stage, he was legit solid to close out and moved up in the running order.
